Today will be another lovely sunny day, with temperatures staying in the mid to low 70’s.  The evening will be quite cool with a nighttime low of 51 degrees.

Activities and Entertainment

Although Lake Champlain is one of our best features, please be aware that sharp shells called Zebra Mussels attach themselves to the docks, swim platforms, and rocks around the swimming area.  Wearing water-shoes can help prevent cuts that these shells can cause.  We just want you to have a safe, and enjoyable time at BHC!

Yesterday’s US Open winner and ATP Player of the Week was Stephanie Gallo!  She won 12 games at the US Open, and earned a total of 155 points throughout the week.  We would also like to congratulate previous winners Ted Bahr and Steve Wilson.  The Junior Round Robin winner was Luca DiNapoli, who won his singles matches 7-6, 6-2.  Today the Adult Round Robin is at 11am, and the Junior Round Robin is at 2:30pm.

Don’t miss out on any of the fun activities that are offered at Basin Harbor this week!  Head over to the Treehouse Wellness Center for invigorating and enjoyable fitness classes.  Today, take Healthy Back and Stretch, Yoga with Prem, Meditation or sign up for Total Conditioning!  All classes are great for people of all ages and abilities.  Sign up sheets are available at the Wellness Center, or you can call ext. 896 to speak with one of the friendly wellness staff members. 

Stop by the Harbor Store for a sweet treat between 10am and 5pm.  Cool off with an Alligator Ice, or a maple milkshake.  There is a wonderful variety of candy, drinks and snacks that are sure to please everyone.  You can also find wonderful toys for the young, and young at heart!  If you have any questions, please give them a call at ext. 592.  It is sure to brighten your day!

Visit LCMM to see the exhibit Key to Liberty: The Revolutionary War in the Champlain Valley where you can read eyewitness accounts of the 1776 Battle of Valcour Island, and learn the fate of the fleet that dared to confront the British Royal Navy on Lake Champlain. Entering the gallery, visitors find a 9 ft.-long scale model of a gunboat, interactive learning stations, videos, artifacts, and historical maps and images that tell the story of Benedict Arnold’s 1776 naval fleet on Lake Champlain, and the fate of the historic shipwrecks of that fleet including the last surviving gunboat discovered in 1997.

A Photography Ordering Session will be held in the Champlain Lounge from 10 am until 12 pm.  Whether you are ordering from candid photos, the family portraiture specials, or a private session, stop by and meet with Margo to view samples, ask questions, and place your orders.

Due to the amount of rainfall that we have had this summer, we please ask that you do not park on the grass, due to the damage that it could cause to the property.  Also, when traveling around our lovely property, whether by bike or by vehicle, please remember to stay in control at all times.  Bikers are encouraged to wear helmets whenever riding around, and we ask that vehicles please keep their speed under 10 mph.  Thanks so much for helping us keep Basin Harbor safe!
