Once married at Basin Harbor, always family!
You can read below their weddings testimonials and sentiments - kind words that now make them family. Our staff has been thrilled over the years to engage with such lovely and amazing couples who wed at Basin Harbor. Being a part of their Vermont wedding memories is such an honor. We thank all those who have shared their special day at our Lake Champlain resort.
From the moment we walked onto the Basin Harbor Club property, we knew it was where we wanted to have our wedding. BHC is the perfect blend of Vermont and costal New England style beauty. It is the most aesthetically beautiful location in Vermont; it’s well kept, but not overly manicured and still naturally gorgeous, it has the mountain views, the rolling hills and fields, and the waterfront that is postcard perfect.
Not only was Basin Harbor Club the perfect setting for our wedding because of the scenery and waterfront location, but the staff and food were out of this world. All of our guests raved about the food, which is certainly what you hope for at your wedding.
During the planning process, Basin Harbor Club listened to how we wanted our wedding to be, and was accommodating to all of our requests and needs. The details were so well known, and the plans were so well executed that during the day of we didn’t have to think of anything, didn’t have to wonder or ask where things were, we just enjoyed the day and everything was set up perfectly. The staff was incredibly nice, accommodating, and carried themselves professionally.
We had an amazing time at Basin Harbor and so did all of our guests. They’re still raving about it! We will most certainly be back for anniversaries and vacations and I have a feeling that our guests will too.
Thank you Basin Harbor Club, it was truly a wonderful wedding and a perfect day. ~ Andrea & Kyle Martin 2012
I grew up spending my summers near Basin Harbor Club and have many fond childhood memories of eating at the Red Mill, taking tennis lessons and just enjoying all the resort had to offer. I worked at the waterfront during my summer breaks during college where I created new memories and met some of the most amazing friends I have ever known.
When my husband proposed almost 9-years ago, neither of us could imagine a more perfect place to get married. Our wedding was all that we hoped for and more. It was true perfection…from the moment we began the planning stages to the last dance under the tent with all the people we love the most in the world to the late night party at the Red Mill.
If I could go back and do it all again, I wouldn’t change a thing! Aren & John, September 2003
We loved our Basin Harbor wedding! I can honestly say there is not a thing I would change. Throughout the planning stages everyone was helpful and quick to respond to any and all of our questions. We had a beautiful autumn ceremony overlooking Lake Champlain and the Adirondack foliage. Thanks to the BHC staff (and cooperative weather), everything went exactly as we planned. Our reception was flawless with incredibly personable and efficient service.
Thank you for pulling all the last minute details together so nicely for the most awesome wedding celebration I have ever experienced (aside from any personal prejudice, and remarked upon by so many of our guests). While, yes, a huge part of that was our planning with your smoothly capable onsite support , in fact, the BHC site itself was unexpectedly key to the loving and amazing success of the “human gathering”. The BHC harbor and water front are literally so central and visible from all guest traffic and activity patterns that it magnetically attracted all the family and friends groups down to mingle so effortlessly, regardless of age or water skills. (This is in fact very hard to plan – which we face next year when our other son marries at 9000 ft elevation in CO!!) The weather helped, too, of course, but the various waterfront activities (paddle boarding, kayaking, paddle boating, swimming/diving/jumping off the trampoline raft, etc.) bringing friends and families together from Friday afternoon through midday Sunday were a huge highlight for all!!
The Rehearsal Dinner food station setup concept and being on the lawn from warm afternoon into starry evening for the first reunions of the weekend was a HUGE big bang of a welcome for our guests. And BIG THANKS to the staff for helping us move a lot of unique (very special to me!!) flower arrangements in heavy pottery bowls and sap buckets from location to flower cooler to location to flower cooler to location (or however you did it)! That was a lot of extra work, but the special and unique arrangements were appreciated by all at each occasion! And I was so pleased to find you had arranged their “finale show” at the Sunday Brunch. Great call on the weather for the ceremony. . . and a dockside ceremony wasn’t ever missed by any of us! The weather enabled dockside activities at every other hour of the weekend!! And I think all were likely able to hear and appreciate the truly movingly and humorously beautiful ceremony words in the Town Hall anyway!! Thanks to you and Claire for decorating the Town Hall artfully with some of the sap bucket bouquets, potted plants and the lovely ribbon along the chairs. And the Ranger Room meal, photo booth, powerpoint projection and spirited multi-generational dancing topped it all off, artfully pulled together by you.
We’re pretty sure you will see our faces again, perhaps on an annual basis?? The food, ambiance and waterfront activities were so memorable, that we won’t need to celebrate a wedding to come back!! (Oh, and everyone enjoyed their cottage lodging – very attractive, clean, up to date, comfortable. . . ) ~ Kate, Mother of the Groom. Fall 2012
