Pennie’s Favorite: Beach Family Cranberry Chutney

This week’s recipe comes from Pennie who got it from Bob Beach Sr who originally got it from Lois Noonan, who was the head librarian at the Bixby Library in Vergennes for many, many years.

Beach Family Cranberry Chutney

ingredients 
1 cup chopped celery
1 pkg cranberries
1 cup walnuts
2 cups sugar
1 apple (chopped)
1 cup orange juice
1 tsp ginger
1 cup raisins
1 tsp granted orange peel

directions
Heat cranberries, sugar and orange juice, bringing to a boil.
Stirring frequently
Reduce heat to low
Simmer 15 mins
remove from heat
Stir in rest of the ingredients, cover and refrigerate
