Meet Your Instructor: Maggie Pate

Maggie will be teaching two sessions for Project: You Craft Camp on June 26th. The morning session is currently reserved for retreat attendees only, but we will open up registration in Mid May for the public. A second public class will be offered the afternoon of June 26th: registration is open for this session.

WHERE DO I SIGN UP? You can sign up for Project: You by calling our reservations team and book your accommodation for the nights you’d like to stay. A daily recreation flat fee will cover all of those day’s activities.

More About Maggie:

Despite her long history in the fast-paced fashion industry of NYC, Maggie Pate has redirected her work in textiles to be sustainable and eco-friendly. She is a self-taught natural dyer from Tennessee that home grows her dyes or forages for them in the Appalachian Mountains. All her work whether it be clothing, scarves, kitchen goods or weavings are grounded in her companies mission of slow artistry. Visit more at her company site NÅDE.
Explore the most popular of natural dyes, INDIGO. From India to Japan to Greece … indigo has been the foundation of century old textile traditions. We will dive into the basics of dyeing with natural fibers and the creating patterns with the timeworn Japanese resistance technique called Shibori. After all the introductions it will be time to get your hands dirty or rather blue … as you will create your own indigo Shibori dyed scarves to take home!  New-Mexico-Photography-Workshop-by-Eva-Kosmas-Flores-55
