Our Traditions… be shared.

Certain words are used a lot at Basin Harbor: family, fun, safety, traditions, playground, retreat…  As we give thanks this holiday season, we have been reminiscing about all the wonderful memories we shared with you this past season and beyond.  You are part of our extended family and we hope your holidays are filled with new memories as well as reliving your fond memories at Basin Harbor.  Thank you for making Basin Harbor part of your annual traditions.

We love hearing from you about your favorite traditions at Basin Harbor and the new ones that you discover each year.  How many of you hiked in the Adirondacks this year?  Does your family wear bow ties one night in Ardelia’s?  Do you have a family golf tournament?  Did you visit the new cidery in Vergennes?

If you’re looking for inspiration on your next visit, just ask one of the smiling faces you’ll meet; we all have our favorite pastimes!

bob and dogs If you’ve been on the Lodge Lawn just before dinner time, chances are you have seen Bob swimming the mouth of the Harbor with his golden retrievers, Piper and Rosie.  Some might say you could set your watch by their daily tradition.
Caring for P’s Bees has become a very special tradition for Pennie as she tends her hives and harvests delicious honey  each year.  We even persuaded her to put a Bee Tour on the weekly schedule, weather permitting.vermont honey
hiking in VermontSarah enjoys exploring the local area, particularly hiking to the local mountains, enjoying the views of the Champlain Valley.

But you don’t have to drive anywhere to be immersed in nature.  One of Jen’s traditions is exploring our ever expanding nature trails and capturing pictures of all the details of our landscape.  Heidi loves finding a social spot in the Lobby or Breezeway to say hello to familiar faces and catch up on their lives.
