Sara + Jason: Basin Harbor Couple Feature

Jason & Sara Yellow Chair
Unlike the couple features we’ve done in the past, we’re excited to be able to share a bride and groom’s experience retrospectively. Sara and Jason were married at Basin Harbor Club on May 16th, 2015!

The couple met after college through mutual friends but it wasn’t until several years later that their path’s crossed again and the timing was perfect.

Sara and Jason found Basin Harbor because of Jason’s frequent attendance to the golf course. They found the property to be a unity of Jason’s Vermont roots with the woodsy surroundings and Sara’s upbringing near the water in Massachusetts. They knew they had found the perfect venue because it had “everything [they] were looking for and more. Anne [BHC Wedding Planner] and the resort staff were able to work with us to fit our dream wedding within budget” says the bride.

“We loved the view! We especially loved the boat cruise that we went on. We were able to tour Lake Champlain and our family and friends were able to meet each other. This was the first time that our extended families met. We ended the night at the Red Mill where we were able to get some late night appetizers and continue socializing.” Shared Sara and Jason.

The couple exchanged vows at the Basin Harbor wedding arch:

Sara loved that she was able to get ready with all of her nine bridesmaids right next to the Wedding Arch in the Historic Homestead building. They were able to get ready, enjoy lunch in their room and secretly see the guests arrive. Sara says that “it was a central location so all aunts, grandmothers and special guests were able to stop by to say hi and be part of our big day.”

Sara and Jason’s Testimonial:

Wow, we absolutely loved Anne & Kate [BHC Wedding Planner and Coordinator]. The staff’s ability to arrange the dining room with minimal guidance was amazing. The hospitality and friendless of the staff was amazing. It was far more than we expected. It was a topic of conversation at our Sunday Brunch. Our families were speaking how polite, courteous, and professional the staff was. The staff remembered a lot of people from the day before and was able to converse with them about things that they had discussed the evening before. The staff appeared very genuine and very kind to all of our guests.
