How about some blue skies and a sunny afternoon, for a change? A high of 86 degrees is on the roster for today, with a mostly clear evening cooling to 65 degrees.
Basin Harbor is delighted to welcome back our returning guests! From West Hartford, CT comes Shepard & Beverly Baker, and we welcome John & Denise Epprecht with the kids from Madison, CT. Richard & Allison Beitler are here with us from Scarsdale, NY with Brian and Daniel, while Albert & Ellen Dungan visit from Larchmont, NY. We’re glad to see Stephen & Cathy Aschettino again, bringing Austin from East Norwich, NY. The lovely weather welcomes in our friends Jeffrey & Margorie Naiman of Summit, NJ along with Daniel and David. Staci Pollack and Matthew Berke join us from Larchmont, NY with the family in tow, and Henry & Diane Elliott are here at the Harbor from Rye, NY. BHC is delighted to see longtime guests Chad & Kim Egelhoff, back for another week of summer fun from New Albany, OH. From Norwich, VT we welcome Christine Stone and from Needham, MA we are pleased to see Priscilla Murray. Arthur & Teresa Thomas join us with Ann from Fitchburg, MA. How wonderful to see you all again!
We are excited to report that our guest Tracy McCurdy accomplished the feat of swimming across Lake Champlain yesterday from Vermont to New York, accompanied by her husband in a kayak. Way to go, Tracy! In other noteworthy news, the Moffly-Klotz Family Fishing Tournament on Thursday turned up a winner for Largest Fish Caught in the form of an 18” bass. Duncan Klotz is responsible for reeling in the monster bass. Congratulations!
Basin Harbor welcomes the Walsh Family Reunion, with family members gathering on the shores of Lake Champlain from Purchase, NY and from New York City. We hope you’ll have a lovely time this week!
What a Thursday night we had in the Bingo Hall! Kicking off Regular Bingo was winner Jon Haas of Darien, CT, followed by Sophie Driscoll of Westport, CT who scooped up the prize for X Marks the Spot. Jennifer Schiffman from New York City reigned over Four Corners, and the Postage Stamp victory went to Isaac Peabody from Ridgewood, NJ. The prize for Picture Frame belonged to Hunter Stetson of South Burlington, VT. High Stakes resulted in a win by Caroline Dolan from Bernardsville, NJ, and Losers Bingo turned up a non-loser by the name of Andree Tully from Northport, NY. Our Blackout Championship produced a tie-game between jackpot winners Liza Schoenfein from New York City and Caroline Finnerty of Hingham, MA, who split the $280 pot down the middle. Congratulations to all our winners!
Prepare your tastebuds for some culinary wonderment! Pop in on guest Chef Tony for a cooking class (or all three!) this week as he shares tried-and-true Italian recipes on our lovely open-air North Dock kitchen. Not to be missed!
