Temps are on the rise! Our high today will likely cap off just below 90 degrees, and may or may not be accompanied by a shower or two in the afternoon.
The golf course is in excellent shape, so put some greens into your daily diet! We have something to suit every schedule, whether you have enough time for seeing all 18 holes, playing 9 of ‘em, or just visiting the driving range for a bit. Private lessons with PGA Professional Paul Meunier are available, as well, catering to all skill levels from beginner to pro! Call extension 899. If you feel a bit snackish, head to The Fairway Café, our open-air canteen on the porch of the golf shop serving breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks daily from 8:30am to 5pm. The Olympics will be onscreen at the café all week long!
Did you know that almost every part of the cattail is edible? Or that you can make a summer drink out of sumac flowers? Stop by the Nature Center to check out our display Beyond the Maple Syrup: Useful Nature in Vermont’s Past and Present, and pick up a recipe for Cattail Pollen Pancakes! While you’re there, grab a freshly pressed Hiking Guide to local trails outside of Basin Harbor, or a Cycling Map of the nearby farm roads. Do you like to keep yourself active on vacation? Look no further than the Basin Harbor grounds themselves to work off those extra desserts at the Ranger Room! Meet our fitness guru Scott at the Wellness Center at 7am tomorrow morning for Outdoor Interval Training, a fast-paced series of events that will take you all around BHC. If that’s not enough of a challenge, sign up for Basin Harbor’s mini-Triathlon tomorrow afternoon, including a 200 yard swim across the Harbor followed by a 2.2 mile bike ride and a .8 mile run. Come join us as an individual or create a team with family and friends, and show your colors!

Need a good old-fashioned chuckle? Look no further than the North Dock this evening for a round of hilarity by the Vermont Comedy Club, who will be putting on an Imrov Comedy Show right before your very eyes! Audience participation and a cash bar will be available. Keep in mind that the show is geared toward mature audiences, ages 18 and over.
