How wonderful to see some familiar faces back at the Harbor! BHC is delighted to welcome back Robert & Elizabeth Hoover of Nashville, TN along with Robert and Brinton, as well as Elizabeth Gordon and family from Phoenix, AZ. We are happy to see Doug Parker and Dyanna Pepitone from Westfield, NJ, joining us again this year with the whole gang for some family fun. From Fairpoint, NY we welcome Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Michaud and wish them a very happy 50th Anniversary. Congratulations, and many more happy years to come! Norman & Ruth Harrison join us from Chester, VT, while Marjorie Eldridge is visiting from Syracuse, NY. It’s great to see Kathleen Lyttleton of Cypress, TX along with Jackson and Griffen—enjoy your stay! Nancy Dickgiesser of Woodbridge, CT is here to enjoy some Harbor time with her family, including  Heather Baron and Jeff & Holly Penkacik with Hannah and Sophie, all from Milford, CT. We welcome Tracy and Susan MacGregor of Princeton, NJ along with Sam, Lilly, and Duncan—great to see you! From Darien, CT come Michelle Mauboussin and family for some summer fun, while Saddle River, NJ brings William & Leslie Weiss and Lucinda Scala Quinn. David & Birgit Stueber are also visiting from Darien, CT, while Richard & Casey DeCola arrive from Wilton, CT with Amy, Breann, and Keith. We are delighted to see Mr. & Mrs. John Seel of Williamsburg, VA again this year. Welcome back! Basin Harbor also welcomes Edward & Catherine Lentz of Wyomissing, PA, here with the whole gang Sydney, Tyler, Mackey, and Sophie. Gerard & Patricia Cuddy and family of Rosemont, PA are visiting this week, as well as James & Mia Holman from Bryn Mawr, PA, with Mary Kate and Laura in tow. We are so happy to host you all this week! In addition to having our guests aboard, we are also thrilled to be hosting a Bar Mitzvah and celebration dinner for the one-and-only Jayce Slesar. Congratulations, Jayce!

Bingo News

What a night at Bingo on Thursday! Julia Bowers from Olney, MD kicked off the evening with her Regular Bingo win, followed by a Picture Frame tie between Kathy Schreier of Garden City, NY and Nick Sadilek from Manhattan Beach, CA. Dana Amsbary of Allston, MA took home the prize for High Stakes Bingo, while Betsy Davis from Kendall Park, NJ stole away with the Postage Stamp victory and merely two games later, nabbed the win for X Marks the Spot. Lucky gal! Wade Phillips from Malvern, PA cashed in for Stand Up, Sit Down. Our final Blackout jackpot was scooped up by the fortunate Laura Hite of Lancaster, PA, who left the evening $157 richer. Congratulations to our winners!

The Breezeway Gift Shop will be open from 8:30am to 5pm every day, so be sure to stock up on souvenirs, BHC merchandise and other goodies to remember  your summer here at the Harbor. And don’t forget to stop in at the Golf Shop for your clothing needs. For a tasty afternoon treat, the Harbor Store is open for business from 10 to 5pm daily. Stop in for a creemee, twisted with style by our expert soft-serve connoisseurs, and check out the new selection of old-time toys for sale.

Did you know there are over 300 shipwrecks at the bottom of Lake Champlain? How would you like to see one up close? Hop aboard the EScape today at 11am with the guidance of experts from the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, and explore a wreck that lies just across the lake, using ROV equipment and a camera. You’ll be amazed!

Do you love to golf? Or perhaps you would like to learn? Join our golf pro Paul Meunier, who was awarded the VTPGA Junior Golf Leadership Award in 2011, for a variety of clinics this week. Stop by the golf shop to sign up in advance for Junior Clinics on Tuesday and Thursday, Women’s Clinic on Friday, and Family Golf  Learn to Play discussion.

You are on vacation! Who doesn’t love a pleasant constitutional around this beautiful property? Enjoy the lovely scenery of Basin Harbor by walking instead of driving. But if you must drive, remember to be aware of all our little bikers on property, sometime hard to see although usually easy to hear. And you bikers, be sure to wear your helmets! Safety first, even on vacation!

Looking ahead to tomorrow, join the 2013 Champ’s Challenge Benefit Ride for Cystic Fibrosis. A 40 mile bicycle ride starts at 9am, or you might opt for a 5K Walk-Run at 10am and/or an 8 mile ride at 11am. Sign up at the softball field located near the Red Mill. A BBQ Lunch served on the North Dock is included.

Basin Harbor Club, once the home of Food Fresh Farm, continues to promotes Vermont’s dedication to locally grown food and the farms of Addison County. For dinner tonight, make your reservations for our taste bud-tingling Farm to Table Buffet, held tonight in the Main Dining Room. It’s also our “welcome” time for everyone to be a little casual and say hello to your fellow friends. Then head to the Red Mill for your late-night entertainment, a dance party put on by everybody’s favorite DJ Goodtimes Charlie!
