Today at Basin Harbor: August 30th
Week 34 | Wednesday, August 30th
Sunrise: 6:14 am
Sunset: 7:32 pm
Local Weather (Subject to Change!)!
We’re going to start our morning off with some clouds today, but they should clear around 11 AM and the day will start to heat up. We’ll hit a high of 75 degrees by mid-afternoon and enjoy clear skies straight through dinner. After the sun goes down, temperatures drop to the low 60s, so grab some layers if you’re going to hit a round of Night Golf or join Dive-In Movie Night!
Welcome back to the Middlebury College Alumni Group, joining us to reconnect with old friends! We hope you have fun reminiscing, and here’s to more happy memories!
Congratulations to all of our fishers who came down to the Family Fishing Tournament on Monday! The Bolducs reeled ‘em in off of North Dock, with 8-year-old Brooke catching one fish, 14-year-old Madeline catching two fish, and 11-year-old Kyle hooking eight big ones! Evan and Lucas, both 11 years old, caught four fish too, making for an impressive afternoon!
Looking to tighten up your golf game? Join our pros at the Short Game Golf Clinic every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning at 8:00 AM for tips and practice for your putting, chipping, and pitching. You can also sign up the kiddos for the 2:30 PM Junior Clinic and introduce them to the joys of golf!
For a new twist to your workout, try Jamie’s Pi-Yo class at the Treehouse Wellness Center at 9:45 AM! This mix of Pilates- and yoga-inspired moves creates a thorough cardio, strength, and flexibility workout—all at once.
Here’s something for you history buffs: this morning at 10:00 AM, join Bob Beach, Jr. on the Lodge Deck for his History Talk. Listen in and learn, from our fourth generation host, the rich history of Basin Harbor and our slice of the Champlain Valley.
At 2:00 PM we’ll have a game of Knockerball over at the Red Mill Field! Challenge your friends and family to see who will be the last man standing in a giant bubble, and sign up a team with the Concierge. Even if you don’t get a chance inside a bubble, it’s a hoot watching everyone else knock around too!
For something a little smoother, join the Narrated Cruise on the EScape at 2:30 PM! The trip will take you around our part of the lake and Captain Marty will share tidbits about the natural landscape, the rich historical context of our lovely slice of Vermont, and even bring you across to see the magnificent Palisades!
If you still want to get out on the water this afternoon, swing by the Waterfront and try a paddle! You can rent a kayak, canoe, or stand-up paddle board and enjoy Lake Champlain under the sun (while also getting in a little workout). If horsepower is more your style, round up some friends for a wakeboarding or tubing session and zip up and down the lake in our Ski Nautique!
After dinner tonight, join us for an outdoor showing of Sing for Dive-In Movie Night at 8:30 PM! Watch from the heated pool or a lounge chair on the lawn, and be ready to sing along!
Or the whole family can play Night Golf: three holes under the stars, with a little help from glow-in-the-dark balls and a lit-up fairway. Sign up at the Pro Shop and get ready to tee off at 9:00 PM!
Looking ahead to tomorrow, be sure to sign up for Jen’s Jewelry Design workshop at 9:00 AM in the Club Room, where you’ll be able to craft your own bracelet or pair of earrings to match your style!
