Resort Compendium

Thank you for joining us.  Our resort has always been a place for people to escape and reconnect, and that remains as true as it’s ever been. However, just like most aspects of life these days, we’ve had to make some concessions to keep our guests and staff as safe as possible. Most of the activities and amenities we’re known for are open with a few exceptions here and there. But if you’re looking to eat, drink, hike, swim, bike, play tennis, or have fun on Lake Champlain, you’ve come to the right place.

The best way to get more information and to book an experience is to contact the Front Desk. Just call 800-622-4000 or text 802-475-2311 and we’ll take care of everything.

From the time that Basin Harbor opened in 1886, food has been the central part of every guest’s experience. Although the beginning was humble, fresh and local food has always been the highlight of daily life. The restaurants of Basin Harbor and their menus reflect time-honored favorites as well as bold contemporary flavors. The bounty of Vermont is the unifying theme throughout with resort dining menus featuring local producers. Executive Chef, Chris Bonnivier, brings a passion for the culinary arts that’s been fostered working at two- and three-star Michelin-rated properties around the world.

Open for breakfast daily, lunch buffet and a-la-carte dinner service three to four nights per week. Reservations required. Breakfast takeout and delivery are also available. View Ardelia’s seasonal menu and make reservations via the concierge or OpenTable.

And where else in VT can you fly in for a burger? Our grass airstrip is a great destination for small planes. The Red Mill also has an enormous outdoor play structure, guaranteed to provide hours of fun for the younger crowd…Just another reason we are family approved!

Green Resorts

At Basin Harbor, we consider ourselves to be stewards of the land, preserving the natural beauty of the area and Lake Champlain for our guests to return to year after year.  We like to say we’ve been practicing green initiatives since before it was thing.  Our beginnings as a working farm in the 1800s have carried over to a full composting service today, which puts compost back into our flower beds around the resort.  We get all our drinking water out of Lake Champlain, treating it before use, and recycle waste water through a lagoon and spray field on the south east corner of the property.  Over the years we’ve done away with cocktail swords and other pieces of plastic that always seemed to make their way onto lawns and into the compost.
